Collaboration for Impact

Some of our S6 Leadership Team attended a networking event at Queensferry High School to learn more about the role of leadership and to think about their own skills they can bring to the role. Our pupils collaborated with S6 leadership groups from other schools including Queensferry High School, Portobello High School, Trinity Academy, Newbattle High School and Auchmuty High School, giving them the opportunity to share their own ideas for school improvement as well as learning from the ideas of others. The group participated in three workshops which helped them see how they could use their role as a leader in school but also beyond and into the world of work. The pupils found the day really inspiring and are looking forward to the follow up event later this year.

Some highlights from the pupils are below:

"My biggest take-away was looking at the difference between equality and equity, and how we can bring changes that make the school experience fair for all students, despite their circumstances." - Muyiwa, Melrose House Captain

CfI purpose and meaning

"My favourite part about the leadership trip was the opportunity to connect with and learn from other leaders from different schools. Sharing experiences and perspectives allowed me to gain valuable insights and build lasting relationships with others who share my passion for leadership and making a positive impact in our school communities." - Lorena, Dryburgh Vice Captain
