Parent Council
St Margaret's Parent Council is a group of parents that represent all parents! We meet every month during term time to hear and discuss issues affecting the school and to voice our and other parents' suggestions and concerns.
If you want to find out more about some of the key issues and events in the school, come along and join us. We discuss many aspects of school life - the Curriculum (CfE), attainment, staffing, exam timetables, session dates, sports, music, drama, and a whole host of other events that run in the school throughout the year. We also organise fundraising and social activities to support the school and the students within it. It is a great way to keep involved with and contribute to the environment that your children are immersed in throughout their teenage years and which shapes their very future. To gain an insight into issues discussed at Parent Council meetings, please read the minutes to our recent meetings, which are attached at the bottom of this page.
To raise funds to support and subsidise extracurricular activities we also operate a levy scheme and we ask that families and friends support our activities by making a contribution to our fund. As we are a registered charity, we also ask that if you are a UK tax payer that you consider Gift Aiding your donation as it increases the value of the donation at no additional cost to yourself. Donations can be made directly to the school with cash or a cheque made payable to St. Margaret's Academy or by a standing order.
