Message from Father Simon

06 April

Hello everyone!

How are you all doing? It does look like we're in this now for the long haul! I hope everyone's keeping well and healthy and that we're all doing 'as we're telt' to stay at home! This has got to be the strangest experience of Holy Week I've ever had. Yesterday St. Peter's would have been packed with people for Palm Sunday and then next Sunday - Easter Sunday - full to overflowing with parishioners, family members returning to visit, general visitors for Mass on Easter Day and 3 Baptisms. Now there will be nothing ... It echoes very much the experience of the first visitors to the tomb of Jesus on that first Sunday morning ... they come up against emptiness!  That's because He was alive again. This is the great hope Christians trust in and give our lives for. That Jesus is now alive forever and calls us to follow Him both here and through death into life forever!

Always here for you. May God bless us all until we can be together again.

Fr Simon
